Signature Artist of the Month
Kondoros Éva Katalin
Whether she's photographing her city of Budapest or highlighting the strength of women, photographer Kondoros Éva Katalin skillfully extracts the beauty from even the most ordinary moments. Learn more about our April Signature Artist of the Month.
“As a lifestyle photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better city to live in. Gorgeous streets and markets, famous thermal baths, delicious food and interesting people make this a place to remember,” she said. “Poetically composed situations are constantly drifting before me. I often wish I could capture these moments simply by blinking my eyes.”
In addition to her beautiful city, Éva finds inspiration in the loving, strong women in her life.
“My mom constantly shows how deep and selfless love can be,” Éva said. “Apart from her, I am constantly motivated by former teachers, friends, contemporary writers, athletes and businesswomen who prove to me every day that they are striving do their best.”
"The world is full of magical moments—you just have to keep your eyes peeled for them."
“I try to capture a woman’s true beauty and focus on portraying her happiness, kindness and strength,” Éva said. “I want to show that a woman can be beautiful not only because of her physical look or affinity towards her family, but also because of her dedication to her work.”
Many of Éva’s images have been featured in the iStock by Getty Images Lean In collection. It’s a distinction she finds personally important.
“This collection isn’t about putting women over men,” she said. “It’s about being equal and having the right to enjoy the same opportunities and chances in life.”
The Lean In Collection is meant to perpetuate change in the ways gender is visualized and defined. Éva said she is glad to witness these changes occurring in her everyday life.
“Today’s women are independent and aren’t necessarily reliant on men. They want to learn, have their own careers and explore the world,” she said. “In addition, the men I photograph don’t play with their kids on the playground or change their diapers just because it happens to be trendy. They don't feel like superheroes just because they help out. In today’s culture men and women are expected to support one another and play equal roles.”
“There are themes that deserve to be shot over and over again. In addition, every year I am aiming to capture subjects that I haven't tried before,” she said. “I feel that it is my duty to return the kindness and trust of my customers by continuously improving my craft.”
In the vein of some of the greatest names in photography, Kondoros Éva Katalin uses her lifestyle photography to bring out the beauty found in life's most everyday moments.

She was pregnant during our original shoot and we made plans to shoot her in her studio after the baby was born. The whole shoot was about their morning together and portraying the balance of being a loving mother while having a successful career. The mother's every move reflects care, affection and playfulness and her daughter looks back into her eyes with the utmost trust and attachment. The grandparents were also present during the shoot and we took a few images with them and their granddaughter too. Their overwhelming love and pride towards their granddaughter was very touching.”
